About PRUSA
Recognizing K1 Filipinas in abusive marriages were in need of both information about their immigration rights as well as top-notch legal assistance, two women from Davao decided to do something and created Pinay Rescue USA, Inc. (“PRUSA”). PRUSA provides abused Filipinas with an experienced attorney specializing in securing legal immigration status and obtaining permanent residence while covering the legal expense of securing their immigration status.
Core Mission
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation established to assist Filipinas who came to America to pursue their dream of marriage and a better life only to find themselves in abusive marriages. Our goal is to provide these Filipinas with superior legal representation from a highly qualified attorney and to cover the cost associated with securing their immigration status. Everyone at Pinay Rescue USA, Inc. is a volunteer allowing us to apply 100% of each dollar donated toward funding the legal cost of rescuing an abused Filipina.
Passion
At PRUSA we ensure abused Filipinas have superior legal representation who explain what their rights are, how they can obtain work authorization, receive government assistance without jeopardizing residency eligibility, and obtain their permanent US residence without relying upon their abusive spouse for assistance. Most importantly, PRUSA covers the cost of securing their immigration status while they are on their journey to US residency. Not having to rely upon an abusive spouse to obtain US residence empowers Filipinas to break free from their abusive situation.
